I stumbled upon this wrap technique one day just messing around in the kitchen. I have still yet to find a name for it.
But it is perfect for burgers, sandwiches, or anything you just wanna eat in a circle shape. It’s also way less messy!!
This is a pretty simple recipe that you can substitute with whatever you’d like. I used some ground turkey and a fried egg with this one. It was so delicious!
Starting with the turkey burgers, I mixed about 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs in with 1 lb. ground turkey. You have to be gentle with ground turkey. Sometimes they’re harder to keep together than beef, but it’s not that bad. I split the pound of meat into 4 balls, then patty them from there.
Always preheat your skillet nice and hot with a touch of olive oil before adding anything, especially when it comes to lean meat like turkey.
I always cook my burgers first, then lightly toast both sides of a Grande tortilla before I fry my eggs. You can let the burgers chill to the side, but once that egg is fried it isn’t moving twice lol. I lightly toast my tortillas because it make them easier to fold and bend without cracking.
Next you can lay whatever sauces you want, then your egg, and one of those burgers face down in the center of your tortilla.
The fold I did takes one small edge of the tortilla and folds it over the middle, then working to the right or left, just keep tucking and folding the little flaps on top of each other. I will definitely take detailed pics of that fold next time lol. But it should be easy enough to figure out, just have fun.
The toothpick is there just to hold everything in place until I get it in that preheated/oiled skillet.
You’re gonna wanna place the flap side down first when you cook it. I go about a medium low heat here, for maybe a minute or two each side. It’s your preference here on how crispy and browned you want it.
When they’re done, let them cool on a rack for a few minutes then enjoy!!!
