I hear men keep a little black book. I keep a little brown one.
I crafted the outside of leather, and its style mimics a Midori traveler. It’s a little rough, broken in, and usually misted in flour.
Inside one end is random thoughts, but the back is packed with an ever-expanding list of beautifully handcrafted recipes.
Chicken scratch, scratched out, scribbled, but over time perfected.
Some are still a work in progress, and may forever be.
That’s the beauty of cookery. What is perfect to somebody, may still need work to another. It’s perfect imperfection?
Preparing and cooking food is a passion of mine. Anybody can follow a basic recipe and get basic results, but you’ll taste those basic results.
You have to add that little extra touch.
I like to think I have the pizzazz 😉 and that’s what I’m gonna share.
I hold no chef title, and do not possess any professional culinary experience (I did wash dishes at Shoney’s very briefly back in the day). I’m self taught, trial and error for sure. But I’m really just a guy who loves food, and learning as much as I can along the way. I prefer my recipes as traditional and handmade as possible.
I also make 90-95% of my food in cast iron. That’s my thing, I love it, and I’m pretty good at it.
So finally putting my dreams to action, I’m gonna share these beauties here. They will be printable, visually gorgeous, instructively thorough, and rewarding af. Hopefully not too far off I will link my YouTube videos to each recipe as I get to them.
It’s a work in progress, but I’m finally happy to start here!
